There has been so many mishaps making the headlines lately: abductions, terrorist attacks, pro and anti-LGBT motions, Boko Haram explosions, jungle justice and Biafra. The state of Nigeria as a nation, bearing in mind that her leader’s mandatory sick leave is seemingly terminal, and the fact that the level of poverty increases by unpopular indices, is enough to affect the mental health of the citizens of this country.
We have aggrieved youths, bitter fanatics, disgruntled employees and apprehensive parents who in a bid to bottle up pent-up emotions may end up bursting at the seams. Art however has taught us the efficacy of nonviolent action in achieving social change. The second Jos Poetry Slam is scheduled to hold on the 15th of July,2017 in Jos,Plateau State. This is an avenue for you to put that anger and frustration into writing and come stand before like minds to express yourself and get paid for it in an environment of a healthy competition.
We would like to hear themes revolving around everything you can think of. And if you’re angry, don’t fail to let us know that as you creatively wrap that thought into a blunt and inhale to exhale.
